Making Balanced Growth Work in Your Community

A Development Design Workshop

Toledo OH

Join Planners, developers, engineers and community leaders for a day's exploration of best practices in green development!

Morning Session: Implementing Local Priorities - We will look at the Swan Creek Watershed's priorities for development and conservation followed by a panel discussion with local developers and planning officials. You will gain an understanding of the concerns of elected officials and the challenges faced by planning agencies and developers.

Afternoon Session: Guided Design - Breaking into small groups to work out real-world designs for conservation development and compact development. Each team will include developers, planners/engineers, and community leaders. You will work with maps, available data, zoning regulations, and site conditions. The aim is to create a financially viable project.

Continuing education credits for engineers, landscape architects and certified planners (AICP)
are in progress.
