Economic Development Specialist
Miami Township, Montgomery County
Pay Range: $62,985 to $72,025 annually
The Miami Township Community Development Department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and creative individual to join our growing community. The position is a full-time, exempt, at will appointment, which will serve under the direction of the Director of Community Development.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Planning, Public Administration, Marketing or similar formal discipline, or the equivalent combination of experience and training of a four (4) year degree from an accredited college or university plus a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
The position will focus on establishing and monitoring economic development programs and policies within the township. This role would be dedicated to pursuing grant funding for community projects, maintaining records and contacts of businesses within the township to support business retention, and monitoring township economic development tools (JEDDs, TIFs, Enterprise Zone, etc.). This position requires an ability to professionally communicate effectively with the public in verbal and written form on a regular basis.
The salary range for the position starts at $62,985 and extends to $72,025, and includes a generous benefits package including sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, and paid holidays. AICP credential and/or Certified Economic Developer (CecD) credential is desired. Must possess a valid driver’s license. 40 hours per week, generally 8 AM to 4:30 PM (some night and weekend hours required on a monthly basis).
