American Planning Association of Ohio

President's Message

Welcome to the new website of the Ohio Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA Ohio). Our chapter of 1,000+ members is one of the oldest associations of citizen and professional planners. Our history goes back to 1919 with the establishment of the Ohio Planning Conference, a group of interested planning officials who understood the value of planning in our communities. Since that time, the association and its members have changed and evolved but our mission has remained the same; to promote good planning for the betterment of all Ohioans.

We hope that this new website will help members and nonmembers alike find pertinent information as it relates to planning in Ohio, including educational opportunities, planning resources, and information on our network of citizen and professional planners. We will continue to work on updating information so that the website is current and relevant. If you have any questions or comments about the chapter, the website, or planning in general, never hesitate to contact me at wmoeller@compasspointplanning.com or our APA-Ohio Executive Director at apa-oh@dbhartt.com.

Sincerely,

Wendy E. Moeller, President
APA Ohio

Two Ohio Planners Inducted as Fellows

The chapter would like to extend congratulations to Suzann S. Rhodes, AICP, and David J. Edelman, AICP, who were chosen for induction as Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP), Class of 2012. According to AICP:

“Fellows of AICP are honored in recognition of the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow before the public and the profession as a model planner who has made significant contributions to planning and society.”

We believe these two planners exemplify this definition of planners and we thank them for the contributions to the profession.
