The Delaware County Regional Planning Commission is seeking a qualified Planner to fill an experienced-based professional planning position. Hiring Range $38,000 – $52,000 D.O.Q.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, or similar, and at least two years professional planning (or combination of professional and co-op/intern experience). Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office, ESRI GIS, and other layout and presentation software.
Responsibilities:
Based on our county structure, the position has the opportunity to assist with preparation, progress and completion of a wide range of planning duties; Daily assistance to a variety of local governments; Provide daily assistance related to the management and business operations of the Commission; Provide assistance and input in preparation of various planning/engineering studies performed in conjunction with comprehensive planning, zoning and subdivision development review; Coordinate with other staff and county departments; Perform major and minor subdivision reviews; Utilize GIS in daily research, mapping and report preparation; Write reports in clear, concise terms, using word processing; Make concise and confident public presentations of DCRPC staff recommendations; Prepare hand-drawn and/or computer-based graphics; Respond to inquiries from the public, media, and other public agencies; Represent the Commission at meetings, on boards, committees, etc.; Attend periodic evening meetings as assigned. (GIS) With guidance, collect, prepare and perform quality control on graphic features and associated tabular information; Digitize and edit graphic information according to schema provided by staff.
