Planner

The Miami Township Community Development Department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and creative individual to join our growing community. The position is a full-time, exempt, at will appointment, which will serve under the direction of the Director of Community Development.

The position will focus on review and management of current planning functions within the Community Development Department, including permit review and code enforcement. This is a professional planning position with moderate to high complexity of work and some supervisory responsibilities. This position requires an ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner with the public in verbal and written form on a regular basis. Experience reviewing development/construction plans and presenting zoning cases in public hearings is desired.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Planning or similar discipline, or the equivalent combination of experience and training of a four (4) year degree, plus a minimum of (2) years of full-time experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. AICP certification preferred, or ability to become certified within one year.

 

The salary range for the position starts at $49,409 and extends to $68,513 annually DOQ and includes a generous benefits package including sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, and paid holidays. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week, generally 8 AM to 4:30 PM (some night and weekend hours required on a monthly basis).
