Pay Range: $50,550-$75,825

If you enjoy working with others to reach a common vision, then the City of Cleveland Heights has an opportunity for you! The City of Cleveland Heights Department of Planning & Development is currently seeking a Planner/Zoning Inspector to join its Planning team.

The Planning & Development Department is front and center in allowing that revitalization to be realized.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The Department of Planning seeks a Planner/Zoning Inspector. Working under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Planning and as a member of a growing planning team, the Planner position offers an opportunity to build skills in a wide variety of areas. The Planner will help to provide support for short- and long-range planning efforts, including review of development applications, grants and other funding opportunities, zoning and land use studies, and general support to City bodies and staff. The Planner will also enforce the provisions of the Zoning Code and any related codes and ordinances.

The ideal applicant will have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to interact positively with the public and fellow staff members, and should be interested and well-versed in contemporary planning issues and concepts, including new urbanism, sustainability, transit-oriented development, planning for resiliency, and zoning.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Public Administration, Public Policy, Community Development, or a related field, plus two (2) years’ related experience in a planning environment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
